Our proposal took place at the beautiful Geoffrey's Restaurant in Malibu. Geoffrey's is outdoor dining in the world's most perfect climate, with cliffside seating offering Panavision views under the bluest sky on earth, or a carpet of stars.

It was April 20th, 2005. It was our 7th month anniversary. I told Karina that we are going to Geoffrey's to celebrate our 7th month anniversary. Little did she know that I have a big surprise waiting for her.

The restaurant was the most beautiful setting and the perfect place for a proposal. They sat us in the best spot on the balcony in the corner over looking the sea. The water was very calm and sky filled with stars.

I had purchased a very gorgeous diamond ring for Karina and I had ordered a heart shaped cake in advance with the words "Karina, will you marry me." I had placed the ring on the cake in a little heart shaped box.

In the middle of dinner, I asked Karina if I could be excused for restroom and I went to my car and got the cake. I had already made arrangement for the management to bring the cake out on my clue after dinner.

During dinner conversation came up about our future. I could sense that Karina wanted to know when I am going to propose to her and that she didn't want to wait much longer. I told her that I love her so much but would like to wait few more months before I propose to her and that it was not going to be too long.

After we finished dinner. I asked the waitress if she could bring us a little cake because it was our anniversary. The waitress brought the cake and I jokingly told her "Wow it's a big cake." When she sat down the cake, it took Karina a few seconds to read the cake and realize what was going on. After she read the writing on the cake I got down on my knees and ask her if she would marry me. Karina was shocked and froze. She did not know what to say in excitement. Her tears started running. She could not answer me. And before she could say yes I put the ring on her finger. Then I asked so? and then she said YES and started crying.

It was the most emotional experience for both of us. We hugged and kissed each other and people started clapping for us. We could hear people saying "Oh he just proposed" and "Did she say yes?"

Some lady came over and congratulated Karina while I was in the restroom, saying that her husband proposed to her in similar way.

When we were leaving the guy next to our table called me "a smooth operator."

Afterwards we went to the beach close by and walked around a little. It was one of the best nights of our lives and we would never forget this.
